Community Resources: education

Nationally, GLSEN works to ensure safe schools for ALL students, regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity. There are over 40 Chapters around the country, which work closely with the national staff of GLSEN to implement programs, and to keep national staff informed of local events.

Indigenous Peoples Task Force (IPTF) is a Native American provider of HIV education and direct services to the Native community in Minnesota. For over 20 years, IPTF has developed and implemented culturally appropriate programs to prevent further transmission of HIV, increase access to traditional and western medical services, and improve the quality of life for clients, families, and communities.

Laura’s Playground is a transsexual, transgender, and cross-dressing support and news site. Personal support is provided through transgender forums, live chat, and e-mail. Both male-to-female and female-to-male transgender spectrums are included. Other features include an advice column, free no combat transgender forums and message boards, thousands of trans-resources, transgender support group online meetings, and research surveys.
