Out, Proud and Healthy is proud to work collaboratively with individuals, groups, and organizations throughout Missouri to spread the message of health equity for all LGBTQ Missourians. Our current board members and community partners represent areas across the state and, as we expand our impact, we are always looking for new partnerships.
Some of our partnerships have resulted in smoking cessation programs, advocacy for LGBTQ health equality, and education on health disparities affecting LGBTQ individuals and families. These partners have lent their voices to the call for equality – our right to be healthy.
Through these community partnerships, we have been able to:
collect over 10,000 surveys from LGBTQ Missourians at Pride Festivals since 2008;
identify organizations who endorse smoke-free policies;
expand awareness of LGBTQ health disparities;
educate our community on the targeting of LGBTQ individuals by Big Tobacco;
form partnerships and alliances with other disparity groups;
and place Missouri on the front lines of LGBTQ health research, advocacy, and education.
