SAGE of PROMO Fund‘s mission is to enhance the quality of life of LGBTQ older adults through service, advocacy, and community awareness. SAGE provides direct services, ranging from information and referrals to grief and caregiving groups. They also provide an extensive range of indirect services including education (like the LGBT Health Access Project), cultural competency training for community orgs, and an up-to-date resource manual serving the needs of older LGBTQ individuals in the St. Louis community.

SAGE has been a community partner extraordinaire from the start of Out, Proud and Healthy’s earliest research. SAGE Metro St. Louis was one of the first three organizations to offer tobacco cessation classes at their space and for the individuals they serve. From there, they have helped OPAH to expand our work in the St. Louis area through networking and community connections, educational and outreach materials, and programming. Most recently, SAGE has partnered with OPAH again on our Fitness Project, looking at health and fitness in lesbians and bisexual women over 40.
