The Center Project is Mid-Missouri’s first and only LGBTQ community space, serving Columbia and the surrounding areas. The center exists to foster greater understanding, visibility, support, and appreciation of the LGBTQQA community in Mid-Missouri through providing educational outreach, community activities, a resource center/media library, and a variety of support services.

The Center Project first became involved with Out, Proud and Healthy’s research on tobacco by way of their LGBTQ youth organization, Prism. Over the years, TCP has become a more integral partner of Out, Proud and Healthy. They serve to extend our message into the mid-Missouri community and, more recently, have co-sponsored educational and outreach events on the topics of queer health. TCP also serves as a community partner on OPAH’s Fitness Project, which is looking at health and fitness among lesbian and bisexual women over 40.
