The Missouri LGBT Health Access Training Network provides cultural competency trainings geared toward creating safe and welcoming health/social service settings for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community members.

Network Trainers have successfully completed a train-the-trainer program provided by the National LGBT Cancer Network. Trainings will be customized to meet the needs of your organization.

By the end of the training, your staff will:

  • Understand LGBT identities and unique health needs
  • Explore barriers and challenges that LGBT patients/clients face in accessing health/social services
  • Discuss new federal policies which increase access to care for LGBT patients/clients
  • Identify steps to remove barriers to care for LGBT patients/clients

The Missouri Tobacco Quitline can help Missourians stop using tobacco. The Quitline offers telephone and online counseling and resource materials to assist individuals who want to quit smoking or using other tobacco products. The Quitline is free to anyone in Missouri. Call or use the web to get help to quit smoking or chewing tobacco. Both the toll-free number and the web enroll will register you to talk to a trained quit coach. The quit coach will help you plan your quit. The coach can also suggest other resources to help, like nicotine replacement therapy.

The Education Center is a part of The Fenway Institute, the research, training, and health policy division of Fenway Health, a Federally Qualified Health Center, and one of the world’s largest LGBT-focused health centers.
